Leadership Training & Development

Transformative Training & Development for Tomorrow's Leaders

Charmas has been a coach for over 35 years, eclipsing the 10,000 hour rule 2 1/2 times. Charmas builds champions by developing highly disciplined individuals with disciplined thoughts followed by highly disciplined actions. Charmas has had the opportunity to work with amateur and professional athletes and  individuals from various walks of life and different professions, not exclusive of the 8 year old soccer player to the wide receiver in the National Football League. Through these experiences he’s developed keen insight into what it takes to become a champion both on and off the field. Using the coaching experience and lessons learned as the Director of Coaching and Athletic Performance for Speed T&F, Charmas has successfully transferred his knowledge from the athletic arena to the very complex corporate America and education sector. These insights provide comprehensive strategies that help individuals, teams and organizations reach their unrealized potential.

Thirty-Second U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt provides us with a an amazing descriptive of an unhealthy fear. “Nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” In this case it supports one of the acronyms for the word fear which is False Evidence Appearing Real. When an unhealthy fear sets in I use this three step process: Acknowledge the fear. Release the fear. Replace the fear with a vivid, high definition picture of what the sweet fragrance of success could be like.

Watching Alex Honnold climb El Capitan was amazing. I was forced to ask myself the following questions: What if everything I desire is on the other side of an unhealthy fear? What might I accomplish if I learned to remove my unhealthy fear? Now I play the “what if” game all the way out. • Focusing on positive outcomes versus negative outcomes. • Instead of affirming what I DON’T want, focus on what I DO desire.
